Concert was tonight at school, and tomorrow I’ll be heading out for the Virginia All-State Jazz Ensemble to rock the vibes.
In other news, my new band will have a facebook page going pretty soon. Be sure to check that out when a link goes up.
Sincerely,
~Wes
Well, as of late I’ve taken to two pieces in order; Keiko Abe’s Frogs, and Stephen Whibley’s Blue Motion. My instructor Will and I will hopefully be performing Blue Motion around the end of the 2010 school year, but for college auditions I need Frogs and some snare and sightreading chops a bit more solid.
In other news, I finished a Rhythm Quartet for Vibes, Marimba, Bass and Drum Kit entitled Cohesive. You can listen to it for free here: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/272547
The new album is nearing completion. More information thereabout soon.

The schoolyear fast approaches, and I’ll be one of the two bassists for Chantilly High School’s acclaimed jazz band. Heading into the year, I’m investing in another bass. To be specific, this beauty:
In addition, I’ll be beginning the year by pulling out my trusty Banjitar for Ellington’s The Mooche.
This’ll be an interesting year.

I’ll start by saying I’ve been a Manhattan Transfer fan for over ten years now. And considering the fact that I’m sixteen, there’s something to be said therefor. Wayne Johnson has played in tons of recognizable ensembles and has developed his own sound over the years, but when I popped in this album for the first time after grabbing it used in a record store for five dollars and heard the sound of bagpipes blowing over a jazzy guitar, I knew I was in for a ride.
This album keeps a consistent sound throughout, while managing to vary itself enough to keep a jazz listener interested. Some of the solo sections, as in much jazz, can become very extended, but whether or not they become boring, per-se, is a matter of taste.
I recommend this album highly.

Have you ever wanted your own theme song? Something to which you can rock out every time you enter a room or begin a heroic sequence? Or perhaps something to which you can jam.
For just five dollars, I will write anyone a full-length, professionally mastered theme song to the genre of your choice. That means any instrumentation you’d like, complete with likely auto-tuned vocals!!
I will gladly pen lyrics if you don’t have any, and will work until you are satisfied with your new theme song! Upon completion, they’ll be posted here. Face the world! Pay a high schooler to rope a megaphone to the top of his car and blast it behind you wherever you walk! It’ll be excellent!
That’s only a five dollar charge, friends, unless you’d like to tip me for doing an excellent job.
Feel free to respond by commenting here!
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, seeing as I won’t do it anymore once I’m not desparate!
For samples of music I’ve done, check out the main site under ‘downloads.‘
Love,
Wesley
I’ve finally gotten my hands on Melissa’s copy of my performance at Blue Lake’s prestigous talent show.
I’ll even let you watch it.
I’m such a nice guy, I know.

This is a quick test to check out my cool little RSS feed on the homepage. Functional?
Alright, I’ve finally got this blog up and running. Thoughts, news, and other such stuff will go here. Really, it will.
…I mean it this time.
